Jessica Williams, Chris Powell Board ‘Love Life’ Season 2 at HBO Max, Show Adds New Co-Showrunner

Jessica Williams and Chris "Comedian CP" Powell have joined "Love Life" Season 2 at HBO Max.
The pair joins William Jackson Harper, who will star in Season 2 of the anthology series. In addition, Rachelle Williams has come onboard as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Sam Boyd and Bridget Bedard, while Janet Hubert, Jordan Rock and Maya Kazan have joined the show as well.
Season 1 star and series executive producer Anna Kendrick will also appear in Season 2 along with Zoë Chao, Peter Vack and Nick Thune.
Rock (“Love,” “Big Time Adolescence,” The After Party”) will recur as Trae Lang, a confident, young writer who is resistant to Marcus's notes and feedback on his debut novel. Hubert (“Fresh Prince,” “The Last O.G.”) will appear in a recurring role as Donna Watkins, Marcus’s mother. Kazan (“The Knick,” “Mosaic”) guest stars as Emily Hexton, Marcus’s well-meaning and supportive wife, whom he met in grad school before the two of them moved to New York together.

Powell (“Ole Bud's ANU Football Weekly,” “Detroiters,” “Oaklandia”) will play the charming and gregarious Yogi, who is committed to his girlfriend and two children, but lives vicariously through Marcus's exploits, offering unsolicited advice.
